Restaurants Give "TAX DAY" BREAKS April 15th

From fast food to fancy steakhouse, restaurants are giving us Tax Day breaks on Thursday, April 15.

McDonald’s will give you a second Big Mac or Quarter Pounder with Cheese when you buy the first one at full price. It’s the eighth year for the promotion. Also be sure to ask for a free coupon book, which includes offers for buy-one-get-one-free Big Macs, Egg McMuffins and other deals.


BLT Steak at The Betsy in South Beach (1440 Ocean Dr., 305-673-0044) is taking 50 percent off all cocktails, beer and wine by the glass and bottle.


Cinnabon is giving away free bite-sized samples of its new cupcakes 6-8 p.m. or until supplies last. There are four flavors: Cinnacake Classic, Chocolate Passion, Vanilla Bliss and 24-Carrot Cake. I tried the full-sized cupcakes a few weeks ago and they’re just as sweet as the original Cinnabons. They range in price from $2.49 to $2.99.

P.F. Chang’s China Bistro is taking 15 percent off everyone's check. The only exclusions are Happy Hour specials and alcohol.


Quarterdeck kicks off 16 days of "We Pay The Tax Specials" by paying the tax on one daily $6.99 special each day through the end of the month. Thursday's special is a half rack of ribs. Check the Web site for the tax free daily special, which comes with one side.

Morton’s The Steakhouse in Boca Raton and West Palm Beach will celebrate CPAs on Friday, April 16 with a contest for a free steak and seafood dinner. CPAs must call either location before Wednesday and give their name, phone number and e-mail address. On Thursday, one winner will be randomly selected at each location for a three-course $99.99 dinner to be served on Friday. Winners must have proof of their CPA status.
